Princeton High School
Class of 1966
School Life

There are many parts to our lives as students in the Princeton school system. Some of us didn't even start out in the Princeton school. That doesn't only mean the classmates who moved to the Princeton area from somewhere else. It also means those classmates who started their public education in one room country schools! And, many of us got to school by school bus. That was a "life" all its own with its own stories apart from school itself. And, of course, there were the teachers. This section attempts to document each of these aspects of our school life. If you have additions, corrections, or comments, please send them our way. The info presented here is by no means definitive; it needs help! If you remember a bit more than we do at the moment we've put this together, please contact us.

Maps at our reunion!

The "Dream Team" of Alan Deglmann and Martha Sommer have put together a pair of extraordinary maps for our viewing pleasure at our upcoming reunion event in September. At left are dots on a map of Princeton showing where all the "town kids" lived. At right are dots on a map of the area surrounding Princeton showing where all the "country kids" lived. Very cool! Now we finally know where everyone lived while attending the Princeton schools. As you can see, the maps are ginormous!! Just one of many treats in store for us in September!

Identifying Teachers

I had a teacher named Miss or Mrs Henchel. In either kindergarden or 1st grade. Does anyone else remember her? John Taylor

ORGANIZER NOTE: Thanks, John. With Bob Dahle also weighing on this subject with the same name, we now believe the third 1st grade teacher's name was Mrs. Henschel. We have now posted it as such on the Teachers list below. (Thanks for connecting the dots on this, Martha).

John Taylor

If we missed you on this list or have it wrong, please set us straight!

Note: Depending on what students lived where, the bus routes changed somewhat from year to year. As a result, some students were on multiple bus routes over the years. If you were on more than one route, please let us know and we’ll make the addition.

Also, an attempt was made to list the order of the routes clockwise from town, starting with north. Some route areas are currently unknown. If you know where the route was located, please let us know.
